Mountaineers, ski tourers, alpinists, speleologists, doctors, nurses and dog handlers are all very welcome to join our association.
To become a member of the South Tyrolean Mountain and Cave Rescue Service (C.N.S.A.S.), you must meet the following requirements:
- be an active mountaineer/climber/ski tourer,
- be willing to dedicate your free time to training, drills and operations,
- have knowledge and experience in the following disciplines:
_ Rock climbing
_ Ski touring
_ Glacier/ice climbing
To become a mountain rescuer:
- contact the head of the local branch responsible for your place of residence;
- the local branch head will decide on your admission to the team for a probationary period;
- together with the local branch head, a decision will then be made as to whether and when you will take the entrance exam (1 day summer section + 1 day winter section);
- if you pass the entrance exam, you will be registered as a member and begin the training to become a mountain rescuer;
- Upon passing the final exam, you will achieve the qualification of Mountain Rescuer O.S.A. (Operatore Soccorso Alpino) and become an operational mountain rescuer.
